Helping to facilitate the national innovation conversation

Vulture Street is proud to have facilitated the Australian Industry Group's National Innovation Review, conducted over the six months to October 2010.

The Review was led by a Steering Group of business, research and government leaders, and focused on driving an industry-led discussion on how to further enhance Australia's innovation capability and capacity. It was undertaken through a web-based collaboration jam involving over 400 of Australia's CEOs and Innovation Managers, held over three weeks in August 2010 and hosted by Vulture Street.

This was followed by a series of structured workshops in Australian captial cities, facilitated by the team from Vulture Street and attended by key contributors to the online event as well as senior business leaders.

All of the ideas, insights and perspectives generated by both the online and face-to-face sessions were summarised into a major report Innovation: New Thinking, New Directions, released at the Ai Group National Forum held in October 2010.

Ai Group Chief Executive Heather Ridout, in launching the Report, said the analysis highlights the need for both Government and industry to support Australian innovation: “Industry remains the driving force for innovation in Australia. Greater government commitment is necessary in the important policy area of encouraging innovation and business capability development. We strongly support the need for an effective R&D tax incentive. In part, any incentive needs to support areas of experimental development - they are the cornerstone of business research and development and continuing improvements in products, services and production processes,” Ms Ridout said.
